Message from President, Glyn Moore
Ontario Powerlifting has experienced a huge increase in membership and I would like to reassure everyone that the OPA Executive is working tirelessly to increase the number of contests accordingly.
Here is where we wish to reach out the membership, to the newer clubs and members that lift unattached to participate. This growth cannot occur without your help.
I would like Clubs to consider holding a contest or even Unattached lifters to hold a contest. Right now 700 of our 1000 membership lift unattached. The OPA has seasoned Meet Directors willing to help and assist New Meet Directors along the way and even help with the supply of platform equipment.
Without your help we cannot move forward to meet the demands of the growing membership.
Together we can strive to maintain Ontario Powerlifting standards of refereeing and contests. Consider becoming a referee whether you lift for a club or not.
Below are the three areas that we are appealing to the membership to help us out with:
1. Become a referee
2. Whether a club member or not, consider holding a contest with the help of the OPA
3. Learn the Excel based scoring program that Ontario is using.
Please contact me at the email below if you would like to give something back to the sport of powerlifting in Ontario, a sport that we all love.
